One thing to note. Shortcode 37473 is a free to end user shortcode and does not go against your data or minutes plan. The message even starts with the word free like is required.

I just got a text yesterday. It says:
Free FedEx alert: Signature req’d for package delivery by . Reply STOP to stop msgs.

    Is this legit?

    • JayC on December 7, 2018 at 4:30 am

Yes. It’s a heads up to let you know your delivery requires a signature. What sort of scam are you imagining? I get alcohol shipments from FedEx Ground and they require a adult be present to sign.

      • Michele on December 7, 2018 at 5:05 am

I never ordered anything from the company. Someone was using my phone number. I live in NC and the packages were going to FL. Husband is TSA/Homeland. It’s a scam. Could be shipping anything. Shell company.

        • JayC on December 7, 2018 at 6:47 am

What sort of scam is it? They are letting you know a signature is required. How can that be used exactly? if there is a link it would have, you can’t hide links in a SMS text like you can HTML email. Tell me more please.

  3. Michele De Smet on January 18, 2018 at 3:34 am

I keep getting the same messages! Have had 3. All originating in NJ and shipped to FL. Fed Ex seems to not be taking this seriously. Calling FBI

  4. John MacDonald on August 28, 2017 at 2:11 am

Expecting delivery on Monday, August 28th. Needs signature, I’ll be home all day.

  5. Carmen on February 24, 2017 at 11:38 am

I’m not expecting any Fedex package. It wants my signature. Is this a scam?
